[REVIEW] The Chilli Effect Wizard's Lingering Burn

The inclusion of this hot sauce in the Spring 2019 Red Box is a long time coming! We started talking about it in late 2016 and the issue was that the bottle is too big for the ChilliBOM Red Box was built to hold the regular 150ml hot sauce bottles. So we tossed around a few ideas and then it got too hard then just decided over a beer one day not to even put it in the box and send it separately outside the box...pretty smart hey...well it shouldn't have taken almost 3 years to work it out! What really matters was getting this sauce in the hands of the ChilliBOMers as it is a cracking hot sauce.

[REVIEW] Orcona Fire in the Hole

I love trying hot sauce when travel and I discovered Orcona sauces while I was in NZ in 2018 in a corner store in the town of Whitford. After trying the sauces, I immediately got in contact with Tricia and Alvin about how we could get them onto the ChilliBOM store and into the Red Box.

[REVIEW] Changz Trinidad Yellow Hot Sauce

This is the second of the Changz range to feature in the ChilliBOM Red Box, the first was the Green Jalapeño in one of our very first boxes back in the of Summer 2017. The Trinidad Yellow 7 Pot chilli is a fruiter, sweeter style of chilli that packs some serious heat and has been complemented perfectly with pineapple juice to enhance its fruitiness.

[Review] The Ferm Hot Sauce

The capsicum and chilli are definitely the heroes, each combining to give it a very earthy flavour, this then is finished off with a little hit of lime. The heat builds at the back of the throat and has a nice lingering burn thanks to the Ghost Pepper.

[REVIEW] Culley's Carolina Reaper Chipotle Hot Sauce

Culley's Carolina Reaper and Chipotle is a collaboration between Culley's NZ and the Pucker Butt Pepper Company USA, which is the home of the Carolina Reaper. This is a thick dark brown sauce with spices you can definitely see, and it has a noticeable smoky aroma from the chipotle. The abundance of ingredients is combined perfectly to create just the right balance and layers of sweet, tang, salty and of course smoky.

[REVIEW] 13 Angry Scorpions Grim Hot Sauce

This hot sauce is an aged Carolina Reaper sauce that delivers itself in 3 stages - sweet, naughty, grim. You get stage one which is a layer of sweet thanks to the molasses that has its own amazing depth of flavour. Stage two is the naughty tang of distilled vinegar and then stage three is the grim fire and heat of the Carolina Reaper which has been aged for 12 months using a specially developed 13 Angry Scorpions technique.

[REVIEW] Walkerswood Firestick Pepper Sauce

You can't go past a good classic and I have been enjoying Walkerswood Firestick for a very long time. Before my deep dive into the rabbit hole of hot sauce, sauces like this Walkerswood, other classics like Tabasco or Tapatio are what defined hot sauce for me, and I always find myself going back to them.
