Trinidad Scorpion rates 1,500,000 SHUs on the Scoville scale and in 2011 the Australian grown Butch T Trinidad Scorpion held the Guinness World Record for hottest chilli beaten a year later by the Trinidad Moruga. Its bumpy complexion gives the pepper a few more pockets to pack in the punch and makes a fabulous base for a hot sauce.
