Changz Green Jalapeño Hot Sauce
This may be a controversial "hot sauce" for us to have included in a ChilliBOM box as it is on the milder side of the scale but I first tried this sauce at BL Burgers on Oxford St in Sydney where I liberally applied it to my Classic Cheese Burger and chips. The sauce complemented the burger so well that what it lacked in heat it more than made up for in flavour and so got the green light to feature in the Autumn 2017 box.
You get a very strong green capsicum smell and taste from the jalapeños and this is enhanced by the smokiness from the smoked paprika. It is of course a very mild hot sauce, which is generally true for most jalapeño based sauces, so there is only a little bit of heat. The inclusion of lime and coriander helps to add a depth of flavour and round out this well balanced sauce.
Overall, this a very tasty sauce and the hint of smokiness gives it an unexpected twist. The mild heat means you can't help but lather Changz Green Jalapeño onto everything and you will soon find this bottle empty!
